Tony Vincent, the star of the Green Day inspired Broadway musical American Idiot, will be taking a two week break starting this Tuesday. So who better to fill his shoes than the Green Day frontman himself, Billie Joe Armstrong.
From Tuesday, September 28th to Sunday, October 3rd, Armstrong will make his Broadway debut playing the role of “St. Jimmy”. Among the songs he’ll perform include “Know Your Enemy”, “Homecoming”, “Last Night on Earth”, and “St. Jimmy”.
The playing schedule for American Idiot is Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday 8pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm and Sunday at 3pm and 7:30pm. All shows take place at the St. James Theatre in New York City. Tickets for Armstrong’s performances are still available, with prices ranging from $49.00 – $127.00. Immediately following the run of performances, Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8th to kick off the band’s South American tour. Vincent’s understudies, Joshua Kobak and Andrew Call, will the cover the role from October 5th to October 10th.
