The true sting of poverty is felt most when I’m waiting for a hip-hop album to come out. Hell, Alex Young, ever the stalwart gentleman, waits in the proverbial bread-line every GOOD Friday to dole our weekly ration. And while we are very appreciative of it, it’s becoming harder and harder for me to get behind these parsimonious offerings hip-hop artists leak in lieu of a timely album release.

Kid Cudi offers a counterpoint in his recent interview with Complex: “People are quick to judge my singles one by one, and when the album drop, those be the assholes that are like, ‘Oh shit, I totally underestimated Cudi, this shit is crazy.’ I told you, dumbass: You can’t look at snippets from an Oliver Stone film and be able to critique it.”

Keeping that in mind, the latest leak from Cudi’s camp isn’t new, and may or may not be on his forthcoming LP Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, but it is a snippet, and its pretty sick, so don’t be quick to judge. “Dangerous (feat. Rich Hill)” (via Some Kind Of Awesome) will be featured on Biggy Jiggy’s mixtape Exclusive Tunes S.G. 30. We don’t know when it was recorded, but it has surfaced (unfortunately with tags) and touts some real chill Cudi with a great beat, so check it out below.

The latest news on the new LP is that it’s going to be riddled with some exciting guests, but delayed until November 9th. But Cudi did reveal more about the album in the interview, saying later that the album’s emotional tenor was “explicit, but smart explicit. I’m not holding back.” So look forward to him not holding back on the album when he’s done… holding back the album.
