Frank Black’s rock opera is really happening
We told you
back in June that a Houston theater was turning a recent album by
Frank Black (aka
Black Francis aka that
Pixies guy) into a full-fledged rock opera. These things can hit snags (see also:
the U2 Spider-Man musical), but this one is really happening. The Catastrophic Theatre unveils
Bluefinger: The Fall and Rise of Herman Brood on November 12. The play runs through December 18 in a 100-seat room, meaning you Houstonites might want to
buy those tickets now. The price is “pay-what-you-can” (they suggest $20).
