As we forge ahead into the teens, I sure could use a little more Godspeed in my life. So, while we wait for those masterful Montreal musicians to put out some new music, let’s watch some animated shorts with their music as soundtrack. Clyde Henry Productions, made up of directors Chris Lavis and Maciek Szcerbowski, are using the music of Godspeed You! Black Emperor as the basis for their new short, L’Annee De L’os (via Twitchfilm). Their previous film was the Oscar nominated short Madame Tutli-Putli, which featured music by semi-GY!BE side project Set Fire To Flames. Their new film is reported to be “a seven minute experiment of sound and form” and will hit the film festival circuit this fall. No word on whether this will be new Godspeed music, but at the very least you can check out a still from the film to the right.
More tiny bubbles of life are also surfacing from the GY!BE camp. They will be curating the ATP Nightmare Before XMAS this December in London December 3-5th, and a small UK tour will follow immediately after ATP. Please come to America.
