James McCartney releases debut EP

on September 29, 2010, 9:05am

We had a peek at his talents last year when he first performed with his band, The Light, but James McCartney has been quiet since. Paul’s only son (with Linda McCartney) has now ditched the band to put out solo material.

Last Tuesday, Paul McCartney’s Kid released the five-track Available Light (via Clash Music). The EP features some songs he had been working on since 2009, as well as a cover of Neil Young’s “Old Man” (“Old man take a look at my life / I’m a lot like you were”). Heh.

McCartney’s old man produced the EP, of course, giving him access to Abbey Road Studios and studios in the United States.

Have a gander at the tracklist below, and go here to get an idea of what the EP might sound like.

Available Light Tracklist:
01. Angel
02. Glisten
03. My Friend
04. Denial
05. Old Man
