While new tracks from Lil Wayne are always a good thing, the bad news is that with so much Carter IV material on Human Being, the release date for what the highly-anticipated follow up to Tha Carter III has been pushed back until at least next year. The album was actually set to hit streets at the time of Weezy’s release, but Bryant said the 27-year-old-rapper will probably drop a mixtape before heading into the studio and starting from scratch to create Tha Carter IV.
Still, don’t expect a Cudi-esque delay. Lil Wayne does have an unearthly addiction to recording music, and he could probably pump out an album a month if he wanted to. “I know how he records,” said Bryant, “he’s in the studio every single day, that’s his life.”
You can check out Spin’s full take on four of the 12 track here. They compared the synthy, Nicki Minaj featuring, “What’s Wrong With Them”, with his 2008 hit, “Lollipop”, and said that “With You” finds Weezy rapping the line, “Tall glass of merlot get her in the mode/two glasses of merlot get her out her robe.” Pre-orders for Human Being have the wrong drop date listed but are already going on at various online retailers.
