Well, the MTV Video Music Awards happened. There were many performances. Biebs had a drum solo and dropped a drum stick like a total loser, and everything else — the whole affair (like, every terrible minute) — was pretty gruesome. But, both Kanye and Eminem made triumphant returns to the VMAs and those were pretty good.

Previous Eminem VMA performances saw him beginning from outside of the venue, but this one finds him inside, in a “club” facing a camera (us?) and starts out with “Not Afraid” from his latest LP Recovery. The back of the mini club opens up and Em struts confidently on and into the “Love The Way You Lie” with Rihanna assisting with the chorus.
