Just because fans in the U.S. still have to wait till October 12 for Badly Drawn Boy‘s first album in four years doesn’t mean we can’t get at least a (non-demo) sampling of what’s to come right now. As to what we can expect from the man born Damon Gough, we hope the entire effort’s a lot like the video for “Too Many Miracles”, because that’d be just keen (via Stereogum).

In an uber surreal send up of Where The Wild Things Are, if you replaced monsters with trees, Gough stands tall as a mighty oak (or is that a redwood?) The vibrant colors do a good job matching the big feel of the song, which has the trademark depth wrapped in a layer of fairly luminescent instrumentation. We should warn you though: tree fans/enthusiast might not want to watch the ending.
