To some, Jamiroquai is a guilty pleasure; a band that peaked in the late ’90s with a run of ultra-catchy pop songs. To others, it’s those guys that had that song in Napoleon Dynamite. The rest, mostly in places other than the U.S., never let go and can’t wait for the neo-funk band’s new album.

It’s called Rock Dust Light Star, and is the first studio LP since 2005′s very tactfully titled Dynamite (the movie came out in 2004). The album, Jamiroquai’s seventh, features song titles like “Goodbye to My Dancer” and “All Good in the Hood”. Another new track, “That’s Not the Funk I Want”, will be released as a bonus track exclusive to Japan. Two singles are set for debut in the coming months — “White Knuckle Ride” on October 11th and “Blue Skies” on November 1st.

On Saturday, Jamiroquai put up music videos for both singles on its YouTube page, and we have those streaming below (hat tip to the Coachella board). “White Knuckle Ride” is the Jamiroquai you have come to know and love — it’s dancey and funky, but there’s nothing new here. “Blue Skies” is a sweet, reflective little acoustic pop ballad packaged nicely for highway listening. Both videos revolve around the concept of frontman Jay Kay getting in a vehicle and riding it through the desert. In “Blue Skies”, a bird’s eye shot follows him around a windy desert highway as he sings on a motorcycle, before he jumps into a green helicopter and flys away. In “White Knuckle Ride”, Jay Kay takes the helicopter and chases a Porsche around the desert. Of course, both videos are chock full of beautiful scenery.
