If you want a song to get attention, you have to either spend months, maybe years, creating and promoting it yourself or sign with a label and let its machinery do all the work. Of course, you could just do what Willow Smith did: be the adorable nine-year-old daughter to Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith and just drop a song that immediately gets you signed to Roc Nation. But who would undertake all that sacrificing and hard work?

The song in question is “Whip My Hair”. Feel free to listen below (via Entertainment Weekly). We’d be monsters to lay in to a nine-year-old for perpetuating the stigma of meaningless pop music, so we won’t. But we will say that it’s pretty catchy. Plus, we’d be OK if this one had to play non-stop on the radio for the next few months — which very well could be the case.

As always, stay tuned for more news, including Smith’s inevitable Roc Nation release and eventual collaboration with Justin Bieber. It will happen.
