Seems like fall 2010 is a time for great bands to celebrate anniversaries. But if you’re not down for the cabaret punk of The Dresden Dolls, there’s always the equally-as-raucous and more immediate anniversary of New York’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In this case, immediate means tomorrow, September 22nd. How’s that for punk?
Per the band’s official site, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs plan to honor their 10 year anniversary by hosting a little shindig where they go “back to basics, just the three of us and a couple hundred of you. “In other words, they’ll be playing through their back catalog (think Machine-era stuff) in a super intimate performance.
The whole thing goes down on the 22nd at Secret Project Robot (210 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY). Kicking off the festivities will be Talk Normal, with Barry London spinning between sets.
If you want in, here’s where it gets tricky. Tickets are available today, September 21st, from 6-8 p.m. at Secret Project Robot only. The all ages show is $20 a ticket, with a maximum of two per person.
Sounds like the riot outside for tickets might be as entertaining as the show itself.
