For the last couple of years, things had been looking good for Long Island rockers As Tall As Lions. Their 2009 album, You Can’t Take It With You, reached the iTunes Top 40 the day it was released. They’ve appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and were even a part of this year’s Coachella webcast. But now, after eight years of existence, the Dan Nigro-led outfit has decided to call it quits.

The announcement was made through a blog post on the indie rockers’ MySpace page. Titled “A Sort of Farewell,” the message read, “After eight years of music, friendship, laughter, adventure, bliss, blood, sweat, tears, and everything else that goes along with it, As Tall As Lions are retiring for the foreseeable future. There is no sadness on our side, and we hope there is none on yours. We will be playing a handful of shows across the country to try and give everyone an opportunity to see us one last time.”

When they say a handful of shows, they meant it, given that only three tour dates have been posted so far. Towards the end of December, As Tall As Lions will play concerts in Los Angeles, Chicago, and end in their home state of New York. Nab your tickets at the individual venues.

As Tall As Lions 2010 Tour Dates:
12/17 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Troubadour
12/19 – Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall
12/21 – New York, NY @ Highline Ballroom
