As immensely popular as Eminem is, there’s a way to boost his star power with a simple equation: Eminem + rising pop diva = huge hit. While his last collabo with Rihanna merited a huge hit, Em’s guest spot on the Nicki Minaj track “Roman’s Revenge” has instead created a totally fun and unbelievably freaky little number that should please Em and Minaj fans alike. Now that’s synergy.

With some pretty crazy production by Swizz Beatz, it’s an interesting little song in that Minaj, who is known for her manic delivery and for readily embracing weird tones, inflections, and/or goofy impersonations, sounds as if she is literally losing her mind. Need proof? The Roman in the song title is for Roman Zolanski, Minaj’s alter ego she’s promised to reveal on her debut. We’re no psych experts, but that sounds like coping issues. Of course, we do know a thing or two about music, and if Minaj can get Em to act like the fun-loving Slim Shady of old, then everything should be alright.
