The deluxe edition is a digital download of their first release on Anti- Records, this year’s Shame, Shame. Featuring four new tracks laid down by the band this past summer, the package is available on November 2nd. Though mainly a digital release, a few lucky ones can grab the new songs as a limited double 7” package at upcoming Dr. Dog concerts.
The band has also released another new song for free download, meaning they currently have two free tracks floating around on the net. God bless the digital age, too. The newest is entitled “Nobody Knows Who You Are” and is available on AOL Spinner. The first, “Take Me Into Town”, can be earned by sharing Shame, Shame via Dr. Dog’s Facebook page. Both tunes fit nicely with the retro-fitted pop rock the group has mastered over their previous six records. While it’s unclear if these tracks are from the aforementioned deluxe edition, the press release states that all those who have already purchased Shame, Shame will be able to snag all the new songs as single-track downloads.
Finally, though they’ve yet to even begin their fall tour, the band has already announced a slew of East Coast dates for a winter 2011 trek. Set to include a stop at the Electric Factory in their hometown of Philly, PA, they’ll start on January 28th in DC and end up in Boston on February 19th after 16 total shows. Tickets will be available through their website on Saturday, October 16th, the same day they start their upcoming tour in Toronto.
Still not enough Dr. Dog goodness for you? Then check out their video for “Shadow People” below, featuring a roller-skating rink populated by people who were probably alive the last time such places were in style. There, that should satisfy you.
