Joining the growing list of awesome reissues from Jack White‘s very own Third Man Records (see Jon Wayne – Texas Funeral), the label has just announced they will reissue The 5.6.7.8‘s self-titled LP, which will become the group’s first domestic US release. Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of them before. Join the club.

Believe it or not, the all-female Japanese trio have been putting out American-inspired garage rock for almost two decades now, but most of their fan-base and recognition has unfortunately remained in Japan. We have none other than Quentin Tarantino to thank for introducing them to the West, who heard a recording of the group in a Tokyo clothing store and decided to feature them in a little film called Kill Bill.

If that isn’t enough to perk up your interest, check out the gold-foil embossing on the album cover. Yeah, it’s cool.

To celebrate the reissue, The 5.6.7.8′s are dropping by the states for a “record re-issue release party and live show get down” at Third Man Records on Oct. 22nd. The show will be recorded for a live album, meaning that a second US release for these girls won’t be far behind. Learn more at Third Man’s website.
