Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” is pretty upbeat, and watching frontman Chris Martin perform the cut live is a pretty high-energy experience. But if you like your pop tunes slow and mellow, then you probably want to check out Taylor Swift’s take on the song. Swift – who will be old enough to legally grab a drink with you in just a couple of months – took to BBC radio and performed the lead single from Viva la Vida and Death and All His Friends acoustically for the latest installment of the station’s Great British Songbook Library project.

Utilizing a triple acoustic guitar attack, Swift and her band mates unleash a coffee shop version of the song that showcases her delicate, yet distinct vocal. While it definitely won’t ever touch Martin’s Bridge School benefit performance, the cover is probably pretty interesting if you’re a Coldplay fan. Hell, it’s definitely better than at least ten handfuls of the bad YouTube covers that are out there. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
