There couldn’t have been a more appropriate show for Underworld to hold its first-ever U.S. television performance than Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Jimmy knows his music, or at least someone on that show does — and he could hardly contain himself as he introduced the British electronic duo last night, calling them “fantastic” and “one of the most influential electronic music groups ever.”

The feeling was mutual, as Karl Hyde begins bouncing at about :24 in this video and continues until the show’s end credits, stopping only to shake Jimmy’s hand after the performance. Jimmy tries to keep up and comes off goofy as usual.

This gig was stripped down and had none of the usual lights and visuals you’d get at an Underworld show, but Hyde’s energy was more than enough to make up for that. Check out “Always Loved a Film” off the band’s latest album Barking below, via The Audio Perv.
