A great many of you were reared on wacky ’80s music videos. While Cindi Lauper nowadays looks like a ghost as opposed to a fun-loving pixie and clearly being a stud in Olivia Newton-John’s life ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, that goofy spirit of creating low budget, overly goofy clips is alive and well in North Carolina rock band Valient Thorr. And for their video for “Doublecrossed”, the band channel the patriarchs of ’80s hair-brained decadence: Twisted Sister.

Like a modern day “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, the video features the band doing their best impersonation of normal, well-adjusted people (that means ties and sweater vests.) All is well until the noisy band next door (playing the band’s song) stirs up a ruckus. Cue cheesy transformations into themselves and Incredible Hulk-esque property damage and the band shows those posers who’s the boss. And they even get girls to show up! We’re pretty sure Dee Snider would be super proud.
