What exactly is a motion comic, you ask? Lee defines it as somewhere between a comic and an animated film. As for the actual concept of this motion comic, it will involve a superhero modeled after Yoshiki himself (not that the rock star isn’t larger than life to begin with). As would be expected, the hero’s powers will be triggered when certain musical notes are played on his drumsticks. There’s really nothing like evil villains being defeated by the power of rock.
Yoshiki’s involvement in the motion comic will luckily go beyond just being the star of it. In addition, he’ll be creating brand new music for the project.
As for a release date, the project is planned for a 2011 release, though nothing more specific has been given yet. That said, it will be translated into a multitude of languages as well, so people worldwide can share in the enjoyment of it.
All in all, there’s only one word that describes this all: badass. As Yoshiki joked at the panel, “I am a superhero anyway.” Add that with Stan Lee, and we’re in for a hell of a ride.
