Check Out: New Duran Duran track, “Being Followed”

By Jeremy D. Larson on November 8th, 2010 in News

Since February of this year, Duran Duran have been working on their 13th studio album with Mark Ronson, producer extraodinaire, and it is slated for release sometime in 2011. Ahead of that, Ronson debuted (rather, offered up a sample) of the track “Being Followed” on East Village Radio the other week (via Slicing Up Eyeballs). Other than Ronson’s blasé tagging of the song, Simon LeBon’s british croon sounds the same as it ever did, and whether or not this re-resurgence will hold water, we’ll have to wait until we can hear a, you know, full song. Check out the sample below.

MTV and Duran Duran were more or less synonymous in the mid-80s — a quid pro quo for the ages. Now with Duran^2 back on the map, now might be as good as time as any to relight their old flame, what with MTV actually trying to make music videos again. Though, I’m not sure they’ll ever be able to recapture this kind of magic.
