Love the Way You Lie” was an awesome song, and anyone who says he or she doesn’t know the hook by heart is a complete liar. In fact, the collaboration has been such a hit that I think someone’s grandpa even posted a parody YouTube cover of himself singing “Just gonna stand here and watch me burn…” Thus, it only makes sense that Rihanna would record another version of the track for her next album, Loud, which Def Jam is set to drop on November 16th.

“Love the Way You Lie Pt. 2” pretty much sounds like the original, but the Loud version ditches the acoustic guitar based verses and subs them out for more subdued piano lines that are akin to Pt. 1’s intro. The song still milks the theme of inescapable relationships and the first verse finds RiRi singing, “even angels have their wicked schemes/and you take death to new extremes/but you’ll always be my hero/even though you’ve lost your mind,” before she recycles that now infamous chorus.

Eminem doesn’t make a sound until the end of the song, but MTV’s “hottest MC in the game” makes the most of his turn to be on tape. The verse is schizophrenically delicious and finds the 38-year-old rapper going from happy to sad about 18 times, even telling his lover, “we know how many knives we put in each other’s backs/we’ve got each others’ backs…our love is crazy/it’s nuts…” Nuts indeed.
