There’s no doubt that Neil Young has had a tremendous impact on the music of other beloved bands and solo artists for decades (Bruce Springsteen included). Now, those elite of the music world are returning the favor by honoring Young with a concert at Carnegie Hall on February 10th, 2011. The memorial service will then be held at Carnegie Deli down the street at 9 p.m.

According to Prefix Magazine, the list of performers includes Patti Smith, The Roots, DeVotchKa, J. Mascis, Pete Yorn, Aimee Mann, Living Colour, The Cowboy Junkies, and Jeffrey Campbell, who is a part of Bob Dylan’s live band and will lead the house band. On top of a night of musical diversity, five charities (the Pinwheel Project, the American Symphony Orchestra Music Notes, FIKS [Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools], Church Street School of Music, and the Music Unites All-Youth Chorus) will benefit from that evening’s proceeds. And in news that doesn’t make it appear is if Young his on his last leg, the journeyman recently released his 32nd studio album, Le Noise, and talk of a Buffalo Springfield reunion in 2011 also recently surfaced. It’s good to be Young.
