For the second straight summer, metal’s Big Four will play a show together. On the heels of their 2010 European tour, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax have been confirmed to play next summer’s Sonisphere Festival UK. Set to take place from July 8-11 in Hertfordshire, England, the festival will also feature performances from Slipknot and Biffy Clyro. Additional acts will be announced in the near future, and a limited number of three-day non-camping tickets are available from £140.
There’s no word on whether the Big Four are planning additional 2011 tour dates, but the groups’ members have already expressed a desire to follow up their 2010 venture. Either way, fans can take solace in the fact there’s a Big Four DVD available as a potential stocking stuffer.
