Last year, Solid Sound hosted some 6,000 attendees at the same Museum. The event, which featured music performances, a comedy stage, and art/sound installations on the museum’s campus, raised an estimated $1.5 million for the local economy. No word yet on who will appear at version 2.0, but the release does brace fans for a January 18th announcement of “ticket information and more,” so keep locked here and on the Festival’s website.
The Wilco boys are currently at work on their next album, which will surely be showcased at Solid Sound. With this, Nateva, and hopefully a followup to Life is Good, it looks like Newport doesn’t hold dominion over New England music festivals anymore. Cheers for diversity!
