Producer Mitch Easter has helmed two of my favorite albums: R.E.M.’s Murmur and Pavement’s Brighten The Corners. He also helped engineer Wilco’s Summerteeth. Are we on the same wavelength yet? Because Easter is back behind the wheel with Birds Of Avalon and their recently released self titled album. You may have seen the band underbilled with The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, and Black Mountain among others. However, this may be the year for BoA, as we debut the song “Shadowy End”, which closes out aforementioned self-titled release. Remember how we’re done with surf rock now? Remember how we’re looking for something to energize our hibernation in these winter months? Put this track on, and hear the guitars spill out your speakers.
