It might not get the fanfare of the big boys, but Ozark, Arkansas’ Wakarusa Music Festival deserves your presence — just plan accordingly. For its 2011 edition, set to take place at Mulberry Mountain from June 2-5, the lineup will be topped by celebrated rock outfit My Morning Jacket, the jamtastic Ben Harper & Relentless7, genre-benders Thievery Corporation, and instrumental heavyweights STS9.
Bassnectar, Umphrey’s McGee, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Mumford & Sons also have a presence on the 2011 bill, as do Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Toots & The Maytals, Ghostland Obsorvatory, Modeselektor, Shpongle, and Ozomatli.
Other acts of note include Rebelution, Galactic, Lotus, Dark Star Orchestra, Perpetual Groove, Budos Band, EOTO, Beats Antique, Lucero, Langhorne Slim, Papadosio, Ha Ha Tonka, The Pimps of Joytime, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Janover, Stanton Warriors, and Skrillex.
