Ever the fan of clever nuance, Snoop Dogg will join the long line of weekly song-dropping, proletarian Kanye copycats with his new game “Puff Puff Pass Tuesdays,” reports HipHopDX. Ahead of his forthcoming March release Doggumentary, Snoop will be releasing one song a week via his Twitter and Facebook feeds. The whole process began two days ago with the sharing of the song “El Lay”, which is a tribute to the upcoming NBA All Star Weekend to take place in Loss Anjealous, CA. Now, I’m not one to cast aspersions on the Doggfather — but come the fuck on. If you’re going to cop an idea from someone else, at the very least get a clever, consonant name. White Widow Wednesdays? Tokin’ Tuesdays? I know you all have some. Less importantly, is this weekly song rationing the future of hip hop marketing, or a flash in the pan gimmick that devalues the release?
