Remember The Vines? They were that Australian band that was supposed to save rock and roll back in 2001. Or was that The Hives? Anyway, they’re still a band.

But wait, there’s more. As reported by Undercover News, the Aussies have detailed their new album, their fifth full-length. They’ve titled the album Future Primitive, and it comes to you this April. The Vines recorded Future Primitive in Paris with fellow Aussie Chris Colonna of The Bumblebeez. The LP features some songs which date back over a year, and indeed the whole thing was recorded back in February and March of last year.

Song titles, according to Undercover, include “Gimme Love”, “Black Dragon”, and the title track. You can hear “Gimme Love”, the album’s first single, below.

Dominic is right. And for The Vines, they would have saved rock music if the press didn’t push them too far on a generation speaker/banner without even thinking on consequences. Too bad the band has spinned out, and the illness of Nicholls gone stronger. Still good garage rock, but last albums are faraway from the intense 2 first LP.
