Late Night Lobotomy (2/14)

As tough as it may be to focus on anything other than the fact that the world of music just went crazy last night in the form of a Radiohead announcement and an unexpected big win by Arcade Fire at the Grammys, we need to just take a second to gather our thoughts. Last week there were a couple things you should’ve caught: Nicki Minaj got weird (as if you expected anything else), The Black Keys brought their latest single to Leno, and Travis Barker dropped a pretty sweet performance showcasing his new project with visits by Game and Swizz Beats.

There. You’re caught up. That wasn’t so hard. But before you go back to daydreaming about how mind-numbingly rad The King of Limbs is going to be, let us prep you for this week. Fortunately, not a ton going on. While we should be stoked about The Black Keys yet again, John Legend, and LCD Soundsystem showing up on The Colbert Report (which is out of the LBL’s jurisdiction, but awesome all the same), most of the spotlight this week should be on the network television debut of L.A. rappers OFWGKTA (aka Odd Future, aka the future of hip-hop as we know it) on Jimmy Fallon’s Wednesday night show. The young rap crew are making waves everywhere lately, and are truly a force to be reckoned with. This is one performance that we’ll have our eyes tightly fixed on, and we recommend you do the same.
