Of all my trip to the movies, I’ve never once been even remotely intrigued by those one-off cinema event thingys. There’s just something unappealing about sitting in a dark theater and watching a concert you could otherwise attend in person. (That’s if it’s even a concert in the first place and not an anime cartoon or Titanic 2.) But a Foo Fighters concert + the premiere of their new documentary? Now that’s something interesting.

Per The Audio Perv, the back-to-back feature will be shown in 80 movie theaters across the U.S. on April 5th. For those not attending SXSW next week, the screening will mark the first opportunity to see the band’s new, James Moll-directed documentary, Foo Fighters: Back and Forth. It will then be followed with the band playing their brand new album, Wasting Light, live and in its entirety.

Screening locations have not yet been disclosed, though the band is encouraging fans to vote for their city at foofighters.cinedigm.com.

Wasting Light is due out April 12th via RCA.
