In this edition of Audiography, I continue my conversation with David Hood, bass player for the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound rhythm section.

In this second installment, Hood discusses how Jerry Wexler tried to get the band to leave Muscle Shoals. He also talks about recording a version of the Beatles’ “Let It Be” with Aretha Franklin before the Fab Four, as well as what it was like working with the Staple Singers – including introducing Mavis Staples to marijuana.
