Modest Mouse debuts new song at Isaac Brock’s House

Aside from a few tour dates and a portrait pose, Modest Mouse has remained relatively quiet since dropping the No One’s First and You’re Next EP in August 2009. Reissue don’t really count. But now, TwentyFourBit points to a recent episode of the Portland music-focused webseries Don’t Move Here in which the band debuts a new song. The entire episode revolves around a tour of frontman Issac Brock’s house, so you get glimpses at his late 1800s penguin statue, his stuffed birds, his carpet, his record collection, and the corporate headquarters of his “Glacial Pace” imprint before watching him and guitarist Eric Judy do their thing. (Scroll to the 7:56 mark to hear the track if you hate house tours.)

There’s no word if the the untitled track is off the band’s next record, which hasn’t actually been announced yet. However, what has been announced are several Pacific Northwest tour dates for next month, including an appearance at Sasaquatch!, so we’ll probably know more soon.

Modest Mouse 2011 Tour Dates:
05/26 – Boise, ID @ Knitting Factory
05/27 – Missoula, MT @ Big Sky Brewery
05/28 – Spokane, WA @ Knitting Factory
05/29 – George, WA @ Sasquatch! Music Festival
