While spring is the kick-off of the festival-going season, not everything is sunshine and good tunes for the festival industry. In an email sent to ticketholders this afternoon, the Oxford, ME-based Nateva Music & Camping Festival announced the cancellation of its 2011 festivities after promoters found themselves “struggling at every turn as we have tried to push forward with preparations for this summer.” The festival, scheduled to go down August 4th-7th, would have seen performances by STS9, Thievery Corporation, Guster, Gregg Allman, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and more.

The e-mail went on to say, “In the end, it’s all about being able to put forth a first rate event that everyone can be proud of and that our customers can enjoy. We just don’t have the confidence to go forward at this time.”  Refunds for each ticket will be processed via the purchaser’s credit card.
