Stream: Panda Bear’s Tomboy

By Ben Kaye on April 3rd, 2011 in Album Streams, News

Patience is just part of the music game, as fans of Panda Bear (aka Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox) know too well. Though non-existent six months ago, his upcoming fourth record has been expected for over a year and teased with four singles. Paw Tracks’ April 12th release of Tomboy is finally approaching, as is Record Store Day with its 500 pressing limited edition version, but NPR is easing those anticipatory pangs early.

The entirety of Tomboy can now be streamed over at NPR’s website right now. In addition, Lennox himself recently sat down with Guy Raz, host of the NPR program Weekend All Things Considered. They discussed the processes of creating a Panda Bear track, particularly what went into recording Tomboy in Lisbon, Portugal and how that led to a decidedly darker record than previous efforts. Hear that interview here.
