Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp are no longer married. The two, who formed The Rosebuds in college in North Carolina, were a young and in love pop-duo on Merge records, delivering taut boy/girl rock since 2003. But after their 2008 album, Life Like, Howard and Crisp split, leaving the future of the band uncertain.

However, some things need to be hashed out — and The Rosebuds chose music as their medium to air their feelings. Their fifth LP, Loud Planes Fly Low, due out June 7th on Merge, will no doubt be an emotional affair. Check out the beautiful and heartbreaking “Second Bird Of Paradise” off the album below.

Just after the album’s release, the duo will carry the weight on the road for a little over a month. Check them out at some smaller venues across the US at the dates below.
