Music videos are meant to either portray a band doing what they do best in a performance setting or tell some outlandish story involving samurai swords or promiscuous cats. In the case of the former, it’s no doubt important to ensure the band look their best, which a halfway decent crew can do with some lighting tricks and steady camera work. But in the case of the new video for “Adolescents”, Incubus have a laissez-faire attitude in regards to the basics of cinematography. Featuring blurry band members, awkward lighting, and a very distracting slow motion scene, the clip sends a powerful message about the importance of purveying a sentiment using visual cues. Also, the director was probably hungover. Check out the video above courtesy of Rock It Out! Blog.
