In our review of Lupe Fiasco‘s latest album Lasers, one plucky young writer described the track “Words I Never Said” as Fiasco at his most ferocious and righteous. Now, in the clip for the raw track, which you can check out above via Some Kind Of Awesome, Fiasco translates his manifesto of uprising into an action-packed, quasi-post-apocalyptic mini-movie. Setting out to rescue the personification of the Voice Of The People, the MC deploys some impassioned performance shots and a prison fight scene shot like Bruce Lee starred in an episode of Oz. As he’s been known to do, though, Fiasco ends this effort by leaving the viewer feeling the warm and fuzzy glow of hope.
