As previously reported, Arcade Fire will re-release their Grammy Award-winning third album, The Suburbs, as a special deluxe edition featuring two new previously released songs. The package will see release in the U.S. on August 2nd via Merge Records, according to an issued press release. (Cool side note: The U.S. release will come on the one year anniversary of The Suburb‘s original release.)
The press release also notes that one of the two unreleased songs, “Speaking In Tongues”, features vocals from David Byrne. The other unreleased cut is titled “Culture War”, and the package will also feature a longer version of the track “Wasted Hours (A Life That We Can Live)”.
Also included will be a DVD featuring the Spike Jonze-directed short film Scenes From The Suburbs, a companion 30-minute documentary, and the music video for the track “The Suburbs”, and an exclusive booklet featuring lyrics and 80 pages of photos taken during the Scenes From The Suburbs film shoot.
The deluxe edition is now available for pre-order at Merge’s online store.
