Blink-182 teams up with My Chemical Romance for massive 2011 tour

By Alex Young on May 23rd, 2011 in News, Tour

In a recent interview with KROQ, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker revealed that the band’s first new album in eight years will be hitting stores this summer. Around that same time, the band will team up with My Chemical Romance for the 10th annual Honda Civic Tour. The two-month venture kicks off August 5th in Holmdel, NJ and features Rancid, Matt & Kim, Against Me!, and Manchester Orchestra rotating support slots.

After spending the first half of August trekking up and down the East coast, Blink and co. will head west, hitting Chicago, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee before closing out the month with a slew of western Canadian dates. The tour kicks off September in Seattle and then heads back to the Midwest for dates in Denver, Indianapolis, Detroit, and  Cleveland. Finally, after double dipping in both Florida and Texas, the festivities will cap off with seven dates in California, ending October 15th in San Diego. Find all the specifics below.

A fan pre-sale will begin June 6th with a public on-sale following on Friday, June 11th via Ticketmaster and Live Nation. According to Billboard, ticket prices will start at $20.

Holy shit, I didn’t realize so many people with horrible taste in music read Consequence of Sound.  Blink-182 was and always will be a joke.  Have fun at your punk lite concert kids.

And since you’re now breaking news on Blink-182, when are you going to shart covering the uber-talented Ke$ha?

M&K and Manch Orch just lost so much respect.

Hey Vicious, think I could catch a ride to the show in Chicago?  Almost done with my learner’s permit, but not quite.  Also, I gotta be home by 10:30.  Is that a problem?  I’ll tell my parents what an esteemed and sophisticated man you are (at least, judging by your musical opinions), then maybe they’ll push back the curfew.

I would have gone for the blink nostalgia if Rancid was opening in Chicago. But I dislike MCR and I’ve seen Manchester Orchestra, and I’m not even a big fan of their new album so yeah.
