Modest Mouse recently hit the studio with Big Boi to begin work on their first new record since 2007′s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. And as TwentyFourBit points out, we may have gotten our first taste of the result of this strange bedfellow during Modest Mouse’s headlining set at the Sasquatch! Music Festival on Sunday night. Below, you can hear soundboard-quality recordings of two songs, tentatively titled “Poison” and “Lampshades On Fire”. Neither cut hears Isaac Brock dropping rhymes, but both seem to hearken back to a more Moon and Antarctic-esque style with some classic Brock rambling and freaked-out guitar jamming.
