Ah, the reunion. It seems like everyone is doing it these days, but that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t feel good. So, following in the footsteps of Pink Floyd (well, at least half of Pink Floyd), Dead Can Dance, Soundgarden, and A Perfect Circle, Brooklyn’s own Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have thrown their rebirth into full gear by announcing that they’ll be releasing a brand new LP – Hysterical – on September 20^th. Australia, the UK, and Japan get the effort a week earlier (September 12^th), but fans shouldn’t be upset, as the disc will be the first since 2007’s Some Loud Thunder.

Pitchfork has also pointed out that CYHSY will be reissuing their 2005 self-titled debut on vinyl, which the band says they “always knew it could sound better.” The news of a new album comes just days after the band announced a one-off gig at the End of the Road Festival, and the band has even announced another round of tour dates.

They are set to play the San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival on August 12^th and will follow up with an appearance at the Sunset Junction Street Fair two weeks later. CYHSY will then take a couple of says off before hopping the pond to play the aforementioned End of the Road Festival before embarking on a two-week tour of the European continent that takes them to municipalities like London, Amsterdam, and Paris.

Other details regarding Hysterical haven’t been released as of yet, but we do know that the effort was produced by The Paper Chase’s John Congleton, who has also worked with the likes of St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, and The Thermals amongst others.
