Pearl Jam announces two-day festival, Canadian tour

By Alex Young on May 16th, 2011 in News, Tour

Pearl Jam are celebrating their 20-year anniversary in style with reissues, a Cameron Crowe-directed documentary, and a multi-day music festival. While the reissues have already hit stores, and bits and pieces of Crowe’s doc continue to surface, we’ve yet to hear much about the highly anticipated festival — until now.

Set for Labor Day weekend (Sept. 3-4) at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI, the festival will mark the band’s only U.S. performances in 2011. Joining them on the bill will be The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Mudhoney, John Doe, Joseph Arthur, The Swell Season’s Glen Hansard, Liam Finn, and more.

Tickets for the festival go on sale to the band’s Ten Club members on Monday, May 23rd, with a public on-sale to follow Saturday, June 4th. Click here for complete ticketing information.

Following the festival, the band will embark on their first Canadian tour since 2005. Set to begin in Montreal on September 7th, the leg will feature grunge warriors Mudhoney in support.

Tickets for the Canadian shows go on sale beginning Friday, 27th.
