Los Angeles’ own Dengue Fever are a modern-day transplant from another era. This sextet knows how to have a good time and it shows in the first single off their latest LP, Cannibal Courtship. A mix of surf rock and psychedelic pop with a touch of retro flavor thrown in for good measure, “Cement Slippers” harkens back to a time when polyester was the fabric of choice and tiki culture ruled the world. Throw in some go-go dancing and a sunny day at the beach and that’s one hell of a kitschy party coming out of your speakers.
