Right in the midst of their highly anticipated reunion shows and a post-Sasquatch! Music Festival appearance, ’90s alt-rockers Archers of Loaf have announced a campaign to reissue all four of their full-length albums through Merge Records. The first release will be their debut album Icky Mettle on August 2nd, with the next three (Vee Vee, All The Nation’s Airports, and White Trash Heroes) following in 2012 (via Pitchfork).
Though there is no word on any new tracks, Icky Mettle will feature expanded and remastered material, including early b-sides and liner notes from the “Dean of American Rock Critics” Robert Christgau. The album will be available via digital download, CD, and a limited edition blue vinyl. Pre-orders will receive an instant live video download from the band’s January performance at Cat’s Cradle in their home state of North Carolina, their first show since disbanding in 1998.
Archers of Loaf will continue performing throughout the summer and early fall in preparation for the reissues, mostly keeping to smaller venues for the “raw experience for which they were famous,” according to their page on Merge. They will also appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon later this month. The band’s updated touring itinerary is posted below.
