Alicia Keys celebrates her Grammy award-winning debut next week with the expanded Songs in A minor – 10th Anniversary Edition, but the party is starting early with the previously unreleased, “Typewriter”. As Rap-Up notes, the Kerry Brothers, Jr. (aka Krucial Keys)-produced track was originally recorded during 1997 in Keys’ Harlem apartment. At 16, Keys already demonstrated control of her powerful vocal talents, and the ability to craft a song that is much more than an appreciation for a classic writing utensil. Check out the early Keys’ track on YouTube.
The reissue officially drops June 28th, with pre-orders available at Keys’ online store. The album is also available to stream at AOL/Spinner.
