Video: Mumford and Sons play intimate set at Glastonbury campsite

Perhaps in anticipation of its one-year hiatus due to the 2012 London Olympics, Glastonbury pulled out a lot of stops for this year’s addition. There were surprise sets by one of the biggest acts of today (that’d be Radiohead), as well as one of the biggest ships amongst the sea of reunited bands (Pulp). Another band played a secret little gig, and this one was actually on the lineup: Mumford and Sons.

The British folk-rockers did their thing on the Other Stage on Friday for their billed slot, and took to the intimate Strummerville campsite for a five-song set the following day. Those lucky enough to happen upon the show caught Sigh No More standouts “Roll Away Your Stone” and “The Cave”, potential future album tracks “Lover’s Eyes” and “Nothing Is Written”, and a cover of Neil Young’s “Dance Dance Dance”.

Check out the band rip “The Cave” above, and do pay attention to Winston “Country” Marshall just get raunchy with his banjo – that’s how you rock a circular axe, right there. A nickel to anyone who can tell us where that smoke rising above Mumford’s head is coming from. Thanks to YouTube user waitingforthewinter for the clip.
