Our second taste of Stephen Malkmus’ first of two new albums, Mirror Traffic, comes in the form of “Tigers”. “We are the tigers/we need separate rooms/we are so divided/let us in,” the former Pavement ringleader croons, over a soiree of guitar lines and bluegrass rhythms. It’s bitter, but still sugary enough that you won’t stop licking your lips as you sing along. Two for two, Malkmus.
