Check Out: SuperHeavy – “Miracle Worker”

superheavy miracle worker Check Out: SuperHeavy Miracle Worker

Fun fact: Mick Jagger says his new super group, SuperHeavy, which includes Eurythmics’ frontman Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, A.R. Rahman, and Damian Marley, is “different from anything else [he’s] ever been involved in.” Admittedly, loose statements like that hardly prove worthwhile; though, really, could it sink as low as this? Probably not. But if we’re to judge the group, whose debut LP hits streets on September 20th, on the basis of their first single, “Miracle Worker”, then we’re apt to believe in the lean Rolling Stones frontman. It’s definitely a shift from his familiar jangly blues rock. Some might feel it’s a tad messy. Let’s just say, if you like your grooves with a lil’ sparkle, then you’re about to dive into a five star (literally) aural scrapbook. We’ll see how the rest pans out come September, though…

The track is now available on iTunes. Update: You can stream the track at BBC2 (scroll to the 1:45:45 mark).

I finally got a chance to hear the full song. If you like the soul of joss stone, the rythm of the stones and some funk/ reggae, then I would say this is the group for you. I personally like all of the members’ uniqueness and enjoyed listening to it.

Aside from Mick Jagger, a group that features the less successful half of a burnt out 80s pop band, Joss “fucks for tracks” Stone, a foreign film composer whose work most people probably can’t even think of and the son of a reggae icon who lives off his dad’s last name is far from “super.” File under: garbage

I’m keeping my eye out for their North American tour with Radical Dads.

You obviously do not know much about Damian Marley.
