Check Out: Three new Flaming Lips songs

By Alex Young on July 19th, 2011 in News

The latest batch of new music from The Flaming Lips comes compliments of a gummy fetus that was released in limited quanties earlier this month. Fortunately, Flaming Lips fan site Psych Explorations of the Future Heart got its hands on a copy and you can now stream the three songs included within the stickiness: “Enthusiasm For Life Defeats Existential Fear Part 2″, (the apparent sequel to 2005′s “Enthusiasm For Life Defeats Existential Fear”), “Steven’s Moonbow”, and “Squishy Glass”. Check them all out below.

For some people it takes a few listens to settle in.  For myself, the more I listen, the more addicticted I become (esp Squishy Glass).

Gummy Fetus was released on June 25th, but only in very rare quantity in Kansas (http://psychexfutureheart.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/kansas).

This past Sunday night, Wayne Coyne dropped off more to OKC’s Guestroom…. and thus the streams above, which I posted on Monday at http://www.youtube.com/user/psychexfutureheart.  More Fetuses will become available in the month(s) ahead.

Next up is Lightning Bolt vinyl 12″ (plus companion music video for one of its songs,  “I Wanna Get High But I Don’t Want Brain Damage”), which will most likely be out within next week or so!
