The mystery is over; the lineup for the inaugural Orlando Calling music festival is here. Set to take place November 12-13 at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl Park, the festival will feature an eclectic mix of modern and classic rock, R&B, and country, with acts like The Killers, The Raconteurs, Pixies, The Roots, Kid Rock, and Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band topping the bill.

The festival’s first day will feature mostly modern rock and indie acts. Joining The Killers, The Raconteurs, Pixies, and The Roots will be The Avett Brothers, Iron & Wine, Pete Yorn, Local Natives, Dr. Dog, Gogol Bordello, Jenny & Jonny, Drive-By Truckers, and The Felice Brothers.

Day two will offer a classic rock and country school slant, with Kid Rock and Bob Seeger performing alongside the likes of The Doobie Brothers, Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Blake Shelton, Blues Traveler, Justin Townes Earle, Michelle Branch, Chris Isaak, and Brandi Carlile.

According to the festival’s website (which hasn’t been updated in months), it is three days. But Billboard reports two, plus they have a day-by-day breakdown. I’m thinking they changed up the format.

welp so much for “glastonbury in the US” – this is more underwhelming than pretty much the worst fests anywhere.

I mean did you really think a football stadium would equate to Glastonbury. That’s good because they will make alot of money. Diversity at least

Say what you will, but I personally am stoked to pay $85 to see the Pixies, the Raconteurs, the Roots, Dr. Dog, and Gogol Bordello on Saturday. Plus, according to the website, there is at least 65 more acts to be announced.

Wasn’t the Raconteurs Michigan festival gig advertised as “only 2011 appearance”?

Wow I wasn’t expecting a Classic rock – Country day. Seger and a few others will good but overall  that day sucks.

I love Saturday though.
Any idea on why they dropped the third day?

This is actually a pretty ballsy move by Melvin Been. If this works Orlando Calling will have a unique  brand in an era where most American festivals are looking the same

October ’08 besides a show they did at Third Man.

I’m excited for both days I don’t know why some people think that this is such a downer. UK has Leeding and Reads festival, and of course the Glastonbury so it’s about time they come over here in the US with a killer festival. As with the line up, I think they signed on some incredible performers to put on an epic performance. For a while there I didn’t think such a great band as the Pixies would ever make a come back, not only are they doing a tour but I think its awesome that they decided to play at the Orlando Calling. Bob Seger too, this is his first show in decades. Then the Killers as well, lately I haven’t heard anything about them going on tour, so this is pretty awesome that they are playing this festival too. If you don’t listen to any of the music from these bands that’s fine, but appreciate the fact that a lot of these bands are coming back and playing on stage, something that a lot of these bands haven’t done in a long time.
If you were anticipating the Beatles to rise from the grave and reunite on the stage I can understand your disappointment. They could have gone with bands like Muse or Radiohead, but I think they were going for an all American festival with an
all American band list. Who knows maybe they will change it up in a
couple of years but I think with this being their first time throwing a
festival in America, they did an amazing job.
